PRODUCT REVIEW

PACKAGING:

Maybelline Creamy Matte Lipstick comes in translucent brown cap and a silver twistable tube. The lipstick shade and number code is printed on a sticker placed at the bottom of the lipstick. There is also a sticker at the sides of the cap which lists down the ingredients.

SHADES: (I currently have)

  • 656 Clay Crush - warm muted peachy brown

  • 657 Nude Nuance - medium muted brick brown

  • 660 Touch Of Spice - brown laced pinky-mauve

TEXTURE: Buttery-soft formula that glides smoothly on your lips. It is easy to apply, very moisturizing, creamy & long lasting.

LIFE ON LIPS: Lasted around 4-5 hours (with eating and drinking).

FINISH: Demi-Matte, but not as matte and drying as the Mac Retro Mattes.

OVERALL:

All these shades are beautiful & absolutely loveable. It is very popular among Filipinas. They have good quality products, wearable and most of all inexpensive (P299.00). (You can buy it for a lower price, P199.00, if you wait for their sale, what a catch right?). I love the formula, super creamy and matte but not as matte as the other liquid lipsticks. But for others it can also be drying on the lips. For my case, the Clay Crush made my lips dry and emphasized the lines, too bad, but I still love the shade. Another downside of this is it transfers easily. It also has a faint scent, a sweet scent but not like the vanilla scent of Mac lipsticks. My personal fave out of the 3 I have is the Nude Nuance even though it looks brown for my skin type, still love it. haha. I still haven't tried the nudest of the shades (I hope it won't wash me out). I still have to buy the rest of the shades before I do the ranking of these lippies. 😉

Overall, these lippies are must haves! You should definitely try them out. You can find these lippies at any drugstores & department stores. I bought mine at Watsons Philippines. For your info, these brown nudes (except for Touch Of Spice) are not yet available in Singapore drugstores.

SWATCHES:

Here are the swatches of the lippies, note that I have a pale lips and NC20-25 skin tone.
